Armor Screens

The system is see-through. Armor Screen's exclusive design is 95% solid and 5% open, allowing you see outside. With a low weight, less than 1 pound per square yard, constructed completely of deterioration resistant materials, which allows for an easy removal. Unlike customary shutters Armor Screen can be released from the inside creating an exit if the situation calls for it. Once the storm passes simply take the screens down, collapse them and then store were ever suitable.

Armor Screen ® Wind, Rain & Missile Abatement System

Our basic screen designs fit most every type of opening. These can be modified to fit a variety of situations including horizontal mounts, arches, gingerbread, outer edges of porches and unique architectural signature pieces. Most installations can use our basic removable barrier, roll-up, or track system. All types of installations may use wind force to create pull down, strengthening the structure.

Standard Installation

There are five steps in a Standard installation of Armor Screen Hurricane Shutters

  1. Strategically place barriers for wind, rain, and missile protection including all building openings and outdoor areas such as car ports, walkways, porches, balconies, and smoking areas.
  2. Ensure versatile anchoring with unobtrusive and/or removable anchors, screen color, roll-ups, or tracks.
  3. Locate structure for anchoring, usually opposite perimeters (vertical or horizontal). Armor Screen does not require anchoring on all screen perimeters like other systems.
  4. Custom manufacture each screen.
  5. Deliver to customer and deploy each screen.

Versatile and Flexible

Our basic wind abatement screen designs fit most every type of opening. These can be modified to fit a variety of situations including horizontal mounts, arches, gingerbread, outer edges of porches and unique architectural signature pieces. Most installations can use our basic removable barrier, roll-up, or track system. All types of installations may use wind force to create pull down, strengthening the structure.

Deflection

Our patented wind, rain & missile abatement system uses deflection to cushion the impact of objects as they strike the Armor Screen. Deflection distance varies with the height of the screen and is engineered for each opening. Armor Screen is a flexible, transparent membrane designed to withstand even the strongest hurricane winds without rupture and to deflect large and small missiles. The system is constructed of a technologically advanced, lightweight fabric which is 95% solid and 5% porous, allowing visibility and natural light into protected structures while effectively eliminating high winds and driving rain intrusion.

Anchoring

Armor Screen uses a variety of high quality anchoring products to suit the individual needs. All screens can be removable or fixed at customer's request. The mounting hardware is installed at 24'' centers. This can vary with structural requirements. The system is secured using a variety of methods depending on the application. Anchors are attached to structural members of building, concrete floor, walk, or directly into soil. They can be easily anchored through weak surfaces such as asphalt, pavers and wall systems to the structure underneath.
